Sloooow Doooown
Drew’s Perspective
We slowed down as we got closer to the space station. We had to stop for a few seconds so that security could make sure that we weren’t enemies. Then we landed in one of the ship hangars. Blue opens the door and I see a man in all black. He was about 6’ 4’’ and had black and red hair. He wore a custodial hat with the Rogues symbol on it, a navy blue and white ¬¬ jacket, and navy blue and white pants. I looked at his face and all I could see was anger. “I’m gonna kill you,” he said looking straight at me. He charged straight at me like he was about to choke me. His speed was incredible and seeing I was caught off guard I thought to myself “I’m not gonna be able to dodge him”. Still it didn’t hurt to try, so I ran back into the ship, which now seems like a stupid idea, but I already started and he passed everyone and jumped straight at me like he was a jaguar or something. All of a sudden he seemed to be moving at an extra slow pace which was weird because he was in the air. I took advantage of this moment and jumped on top of him and back to where Blue and everyone else were at while the guy went to the ground slowly, but I didn’t see Marcus. That’s when I noticed that Marcus had picked up my katana (bet you thought I forgot about it) and about to slice the guy. I thought the guy was a goner, but I saw that Marcus was going in slow motion too. “Marcus, don’t kill him” I said as time started to get back to regular speed. I know you’re probably thinking that I shouldn’t care what Marcus did because that guy came after me first, but I never like to see people get killed unless I know the situation is that bad. Marcus stopped right above the back of the guy’s neck. “This guy said he wanted to kill and you want him live?” he said with quizzical look. “There could have been a misunderstanding or something,” I told him. I went to him and held out my hand to help him up. He still looked angry, but I guess he thought might as well not try again or Marcus might kill him, so he took my hand and got up. “Thanks for not letting your friend over there kill me,” he said in a sincere tone. “No problem, now could you please explain why you came out of nowhere about to pounce on me?” “Because I’ve been demoted to a janitor since that time you left. I got blamed for helping you leave without permission. How could you just go and do that? Do you know the kind of torment and ridicule I get going from the top guard to the top janitor? I -” Blue cut him off. “Hold on and cool down. First of all Drew doesn’t remember anything from the time he came to the time he left. Second you shouldn’t come straight out of nowhere attacking people just because you couldn’t stop someone from breaking the rules while being the top guard.” “That’s easy for you to say you got off easy because you dad once saved the headquarters,” he said back. “Well if you were better at your job you could have got both of us and kept your job,” she responded back. “Ummmm I think we’re missing something. Who the f*** are you?” Marcus said. “The name’s Correl former top guard of the Rogues headquarters, but now I’m the top floor janitor thanks to your friend over there,” he said in disgust. Man that must suck, to bad I don’t remember anything he’s talking about. “Well this isn’t the top floor so I think you should get back up there,” Blue said back like she was going to shoot him if he didn’t. “Whatever,” he said while he left the hangar. “Ok let’s get to general Rolik to let him know what’s happening and then get to elders room,” Blue said motioning us to follow her. We walked for about five minutes, but this place had so many twists and turns that I thought we might never find our way to the general. We were once walking upside down which felt really weird. Finally we made it to the general’s office. “General Rolik I’d like to brief you on the situation at hand which is worse than we hoped,” Blue said while at attention. Rolik seemed to be so concentrated on his computer that I wasn’t sure if he even heard her. We waited another few seconds and the general turned around to look at Blue and nodded his head as if he already understood what Blue was going to say. That’s when I noticed that he and Blue had the same colored eyes and both of them were pretty tall for the average human. The only difference was pretty much Rolik’s had brown hair and tanned skin. “So you guys use telepathy,” Anna said breaking the silence. “How did she kno-” Blue interrupted Rolik “She can use telepathy too. Like I said or thought she’s one of the people I believe are the Divine just like the rest of them,” “Well that could be useful, make sure nothing happens to them and go on ahead to the elders,” the general said while turning back to the computer screens. “Yes Sir,” Blue said leading us to the next room. Again we had to take all the different twist and turns in the place to get to where ever Blue was taking us. “Hey Blue why does the station have so many twist and why are there upside down halls?” I asked while feeling slightly dizzy “I’m not sure, but think it was just because the architect wanted to. It’s really not that bad when you get used to it after a short while,” she told us. “Also what type of alien are you and the general?” I asked after remembering what happen in Rolik’s office. “I’ll tell you later we’re here,” Blue said before opening the door to the elders.
