How much more is there
When I looked into the room I saw the most unexpected thing I thought I’d ever see in this mind bending space station. The room looked like an ordinary living room for a house, but felt a little bit more relaxing. There was a couch to our left facing a TV and on our right was a hallway with a couple of doors on the side and one door at the very end. To the left of the hallway was the kitchen. “You were right, Julie, I guess your visions aren’t done with yet,” a voice from the kitchen said. We went to see who was speaking when we noticed that the kitchen was a lot bigger then we first expected. It looked like a regular kitchen from first glance, but when we went into the kitchen we saw that it extended into a kitchen that would be at a five star restaurant. There was an elderly woman and man that looked like professional chefs in their white garments and with their tall chef hats. They looked straight at us smiling which was starting to freak me out, so I decided to end the silence with a greeting. “Hi-” I was interrupted by Blue “Greetings Julie and Eric we’ve come with some important news.” “Era you don’t have to speak to us like we’re strangers, but I already know the news I just want to see these kids in person,” Julie said waving her hand at us. “Who are you calling a kid? I am a full grown adult,” Kerwin said with a smart attitude. “Hey Kerwin you ever heard ‘respect your elders’, well now might be the time to do it.” I told him. “How come you know the news and we don’t?” I asked even though I could probably guess the answer. “Julie can see the future,” Blue pointed out. “Does everyone have some sort of power or ability on this station?” Anna asked “Well not everyone, didn’t you see how Correl attacked Drew. He didn’t do anything, but jump and try to tackle Drew. That’s when I’m guessing Drew found out about his though.” “I thought Drew already was able to use his power?” Kerwin asked. This time Eric spoke “I think we, the ELDERS, can explain everything,” he said almost shouting the word Elders. I heard foot steps coming from the hall way around the corner. I turned to see three more elderly people come to the kitchen. “Let’s all have a seat in the living room,” Eric told everyone. We look to the side and noticed that Marcus was sitting on the couch watching the T.V. I never did know how he got around so quietly. “That doesn’t look big enough to hold all of us,” Kerwin pointed out. He was right the room could probably only fit five out of the ten of us. “Well I’ll change that,” one of the elders said as he moved towards the thermometer, but then he hesitated and looked at Kerwin. “Hey, you, skinny guy over there, I want you to take a look at this,” he said pointing at Kerwin (the guy whose bones were probably a couple of toothpicks glued together). Kerwin walked over with a puzzled look. “Hey my name is Micheal, what’s yours?” he asked “My named is Kerwin, now what is it you want me to do?” Kerwin asked still looking confused “I want you to look at this and to tell me what you see?” He explained with a hopeful grin. Kerwin looked at the thermometer and said “I see a regular thermometer,” Kerwin told him. “Did you use your shock sight?” he asked. “What?” Kerwin asked even more confused. “Your ability to see the make up of electronics and to find ways to improve or dismantle them is called shock sight,” he explained. “Oh,” Kerwin said closing his eyes and then opening them. Instead of his eyes being the usual brown they changed to a neon turquoise. He look so focused and seconds later he had an amazed look on his face. “That’s unbelievable! I should have taken a better look at this place earlier. The technology is so advanced it seems almost impossible” He was saying with much exuberance. “How about you take care of the cramped room problem,” Micheal said to Kerwin. Kerwin nodded and looked at the thermometer and pressed a series of buttons that caused the room to change. The walls spread further apart and the room to transform into a forest clearing. The room also gained a more relaxing atmosphere. The fresh air, the cool breeze, the sound of a river close by, and the clouds in the sky were just refreshing. I know I probably sound like a nature nerd, but I can’t help myself. The view was just amazing. “Simply beautiful,” Julie said. “Well I guess we should introduce ourselves before we get started,” said another woman. “You all know Michael, but can any of you guess his power?” She asked. We thought about it except for Blue. She just stood up waiting for one of us to get it wrong. That’s when I looked at Anna’s face and saw that her eyes were closed. She opened her eyes and said “He has the ability to see others powers.” “That’s correct, good job,” “Well I can’t take all the credit. I actually read Blue’s mind,” Anna told us. “Good, now could you stay out of my head?” Blue said in an annoyed tone “I’m starting to get bored with all this, could you guys just finish the introductions so we can get on already?” Marcus said lying on the grass “No problem,” Julie said. “Well as you guys heard earlier my name is Eric and I have the power to control fire. The woman that asked you about Michael’s power is Yaritza and she can control water. And last, but not least, the oldest of us is Athan. He is immortal.
